He finally stopped beating his head against the wall and just slumped down into a broken heap. He was tired, oh so tired, and wanted to slip away and sleep for ever but he knew that wasn't going to happen. His body, no matter how tired, was never going to be weak enough to sleep for a long time. Sighing, he just turned onto his back and crossed his arms behind his bed, waiting for sleep or boredom to make its move.

Finally, the night air getting cooler, Victoire stood from where she sat. She took one last look up before she made her way back into the den. She yawned and shivered a little, passing by the room with the chains. She noticed him but kept going, just letting him be for now. She went to the room she'd been sleeping in, and pulled out a few extra pieces of cloth she had left over. Sitting down and crossing her legs she began playing with the fabric, using her wand to make it dance around in the air into different shapes. She had enough to make something that would wrap around Hrukjans leg or so... Hmmm she thought to herself as she began working on something for the wolf that had done so much for her.

Ash never moved, his mind was flooding with so many thoughts that he never grew bored. Instead he laid there like a fallen statue and waited for someone to come along and smash him. Hrukjan, on the other hand, had left a while before and gone back to Hogwarts. She now returned with more clothing and other things for Victoire. Bringing another chest into the skin room, she placed it down and watched the veela working on something. Her eyes were shining gold now as she watched those nimble fingers work. She was jealous of the girl, but she hid it well, and she wondered if her own fingers were that nimble when she changed.

By the time she'd finished, Victoire had changed the color and feel of the fabric she had. She had made a band to wrap around Hrukjan's paw, one that would stay until taken off or ripped, and it was a lovely color that blended well with Hrukjan's colors. On the band were words, written in a language few knew. She knew Hrukjan would know though, and she held it up to examine it, to be sure it was what she was vying for. The letters, written in ancient symbolistic letters, read "Guardian" in English. The letters gleamed when tilted just right in the light, shining like fire on the fabric. IT was then that she noticed the wonderful mammal. She stood, feeling rather stupid, but she approached her anyway. This is for you... if you don't like it I understand, she thought kindly, as kindly as was normal for Victoire.

The wolf held out her paw. Let us see it then. She thought as she let the veela touch her. Looking down at it she felt odd and knew the items wouldn't work for long nor would stay on but they were good enough for now. Thank you child. She thought again in her elder sort of way. Looking over the girl with those blazing yellow eyes, the wolf seemed almost ready enough attack and yet she gave off a safe feeling. If this girl was a threat she was ready to kill her if not she choose right. There was still time to tell.

"No, thank you..." she said aloud this time, moving to pet the wolf. She brushed her hair with her fingertips, scratching her lightly behind the ears and such. you've been wonderful, she thought, finally fitting down on her... well what she was considering her bed for the time being. She then began rummaging through the trunk Hrukjan had brought, pulling out useful items and such.

The wolf simply nodded before she left. Going to the statue that was her master, Hrukjan laid against Ash. For a second he thought he saw her other form, the one he longed for in that moment, but seconds afterwards when he turned his head she was still a wolf. The two laid there together for the rest of the day, not moving until the next morning. The rest of the week passed by similar to that. Once and a while Ash would be around Victoire or Hrukjan but most of the time he locked himself away alone. Hrukjan would normally be with Victoire, watching and helping her there. Now there was just one day left to the beginning of school and the ball. Ash was sitting on the cliff, looking down at the forest, and Hrukjan was helping Victoire pack her things to return to school.

Victoire put her final few things away and moved to the doorway. From where she was she could see he was outside. She sighed quietly and made her way to him. Once she was a few feet away from Ash she stopped walking and spoke. "I'll be leaving tonight," she told him. Whether she was sad about it or not was not clear, her expression was vague. "Thank you for letting me stay," she said quietly. Victoire knew she could not give Ash what he seemed to want... She said nothing else to him as she simply turned and made her way back to her things to wait. Victoire wondered if perhaps this was a bad idea, staying here. He spoke to her less while she was here than at the school, though it wasn't so bad. She had spent much time with Hrukjan, learning a few things, making a few silly mistakes, and just sitting with her. She had a motherly safeness to her, and Victoire rather liked her company. She moved to sit on her bed, pulling out parchment to finish a homework assignment she had due once classes started again.

Ash walked through the cave opening just as she finished her assignment. He moved so quickly that even Hrukjan didn't catch it. She was on her back, he above her, and his hands were wrapped around her wrists like that first time. He held her down and looked her over slightly. Hrukjan let out a slight growl, through jealousy or through protectiveness it wasn't sure. The two had spent a night or two twisted like this but it was rare.
"You'll leave tomorrow with Hrukjan and I." He said after a few silent moments, his voice dark and commanding. He didn't give her a choice and when their lips nearly touched he pulled away again. "And....you can come here when you please..." then it was a waiting game. The two stayed like that in silence a few moments before he moved to get off of her, not wanting to push things but he did it in a way that left what happened next in her control.

Victoire put her things back into her trunk and went to sit back down. However before she made it he was there, and she was on her back, pinned. She watched him, not knowing what he wanted. She didn't argue with him, but when he spoke again her eyes looked him over curiously. Would she come back? Why should she? She knew she wasn't that important to him, and he could have her like had a few times now wherever he wanted. It didn't have to be here and he knew it, the first night they'd ended up tangled together told him that. When he moved to leave this time, for the first time, she gripped his arms tightly, holding him there. She searched his eyes, like she was looking for something that she wasn't finding, before she let him go with a sigh. Her head fell to the side and she just lay there. "Thank you," she finally said to him, though her eyes remained on his hands.

"Bloody..." he muttered under his breath before his hand move to her cheek and turned her head roughly. He didn't kiss her but he was hovering over her again with his eyes narrowed slightly as he looked into her own. "Tell me why you subject yourself to this," His hand tightened against her skin, his claws digging into her flesh. "Tell me why your willing to go through this and don't you dare lie to me girl!" He growled in a dangerous way. His emotions were finally coming back and the normal Ash was appearing once again. Hrukjan had slipped from the room with the chests, getting them ready for travel the next day.

Victoire just eyed him for a moment. Of course she wouldn't lie to him, she hadn't yet. It wasn't fear that kept her from it, she just saw no point to it whatsoever. "Because we have something in common," she said finally, her eyes lowering. Silence rang out in the room once again, until she elaborated a little, her eyes moving up to his, though there was a furiosity in them she didn't have often. "Hatred. You hate me as much as I hate me." She went silent again, her eyes looking at his but her thoughts and gaze seeming to go straight through him.

His fingers tightened, his claws sinking into her flesh slightly. "You are an idiot." He said, cursed under his breath, and then pushed himself off of her. He was wearing the same low hanging pants he had before with no shirt on and his hair was wind blown back. He wasn't in the mood for her stupidity yet he had asked the question. Damning himself fully, Ash just leaned against the wall away from her. Why was she so okay with being constantly in a situation where death could happen any moment. More importantly, why didn't Ash kill her already.

"Really?" she challenged him. this was a rare occurrence, but one she had done a time or two before. "Do you not hate me? Do you not hate the Veela part of me most?" she asked, no demanded of him as she stood from the bed. He'd been messing with her head as much as she seemed to plague his and she was tired of his calling her stupid. As far as she was concerned she was on the money. "What about me can you honestly say you like, eh? Yet you openly invite me back any time I please... You call me stupid yet you are the one that can't get your head straight." she said, her attitude coming back a little. This was the first time she'd stood up to him like this and if it brought her to her death so be it.

Silence. It stood strong for a moment before a dark smirk cross his lips. His finger hung and pointed at her as he turned. Shaking that finger at her, he laughed. "That, right there, that I like about you. Once and a while you actually can stand up for yourself and not act like an idiot!" He growled before running over to her and slashing his claws against her cheek, forcing her down onto the ground as her flesh spilt. As she fell he fell on top of her and pinned her down. His now bloody claw went to her neck and slowly started to chock her. "You want to be around your death so be it but know this, you are a fool for sticking around. Your welcome to wherever you go and since you know here your welcome here, but that doesn't mean I'll be anywhere near you again. Remember my words from the garden, I wont haunt your wanting death with my shadow again." It was then he pushed off her, nearly snapping her neck in the movement, and started for the the chest that was left.

Victoire let out a shocked gasp at his quick movement and seethed at the pain. She didn't fight him, but breathing became a problem with him on top of her and choking her like that. When he finally let her go she coughed and spluttered for air, gripping her thought as she hoarsely spoke. "You are as foolish as you think me," she said simply, in the same gentle, evenly toned voice she always had. She stood slowly, still having trouble breathing and moved past him and out the doorway, leaving him this time. She went in a different direction, one she had not taken yet. She mad a point to memorize where she was going, and she didn't go far. She just wanted to get away from him for a moment. If she never saw him again so be it. Victoire thought about her past, how she had taken her and Teddy for granted, that safeness. She had wanted danger and she had gotten it but at what price. Tears began to work free for the first time, wow tonight was a night for firsts... She stopped, leaning against the wall. The tears had made her throat close up and she was having trouble breathing. She stopped to calm herself. She was a fool, a fool indeed. Victoire began to think this would be the last time she'd set foot here...

Ash let her leave and soon followed her out. Instead of following her footsteps he went out to put the other chest with the first. When her sobs reached his ears, however, he started back in and slipped down the path she had taken. Soon his eyes, black with a soulless shine, glowed in the dark and that was all the light that was left as he blocked away the moon. He moved so that when he reached out his fingers curled around her chin and tilted her head up. He wasn't gentle with this movement but was as cruel as he had been moments before. His claws ripped into her skin and he pushed her back, with a strong enough shove that her body was pushed in an odd angle, and pressed her against the wall. Tilting her head up, he growled in her ear. "Tell me, do you want to live or would you rather I just end it now? One way or another your fate is going to change from this moment onward and even if you don't want that it's to late to change things now"

Victoire's sobs stopped instantly as he came to her, though the tears remained flowing now that a new wound was spilling her blood. She was choking a little, the way he held her there. However she did not answer him. She simply looked away from him. She didn't care either way in truth. She'd lost feeling for any of the things she had once cared so much for, and she wasn't sure she'd mind death. The way she felt, it wouldn't be much different than what she was entangled in now. She was in pain and if he just killed her it would be over. She was beginning to doubt he wouldn't kill her, but she would not give him the satisfaction of asking for it.

His lips curled cruelly as he moved so his dark whisper was in her ear. "Answer me Victoire Weasley." It was the first time he used her name, ever, and it made the command so much stronger. He didn't ease up on her but he did force her to look at him once more. And again their eyes met and against he captured her sight. "Answer me before I make you beg for it." He growled, never letting her look away again.

Victoire's eyes closed a little, but opened quickly when he said her name. That alone, somehow that small insignificant thing he just did made her want to live a little. "I want to live." she told him, her voice emotionless. She didn't cry anymore and no tears spilled out. She felt hollow at the moment, though he still had her captured, she was yet again intrigued by him and she was beginning to hate him for it.

He turned her head again and tilted his own slightly before their lips crashed together. It didn't matter how much she hated him, nor how much she wanted to get away, that contact boiled in them both the kind of dark, sick passion that was unspeakable. When he finally pulled his lips away from hers, he moved to let that growl echo in her ears again. "Then I own you." That was all he said before he moved away far enough that she could have either left or continued the game.

Victoire stood there, her body twitching to change form though she wouldn't let it. She never let it, no matter how much it could help in a situation. She hated that part of her and she wanted, wished she could have nothing to do with it. All thoughts seemed to pop out of existence as they were lip tangled again. After, his words in her ear made her freeze. Her eyes shot up to his and a stare that said she was speechless echoed in the silent hall now. Finally, she stood upright again, her eyes still on his. She moved so that her body was against his, though she did not tantalize nor tease him at all. "Deal," she said before she moved away, slid against his body with her own, and went back the way she came. Headed for the room of skins to heal herself as best she could and get ready for their return tomorrow. Her mind swam though... did he want her to continue hiding this affair? Was he going to continue hiding it? Then just the fact that he had just claimed her... 'I own you' those words rang through her head over and over again... what did this mean for her? she wondered, as she nonchalantly fixed up her face and chin. Her collarbone had healed completely now and she felt no pain as she raised her arms to clean herself.

He watched her with an amused look as she pressed against him. He didn't move, didn't grab her or hold her there. He half expected her to fight it but wasn't surprised when she agreed either. Watching her leave, he turned and walked the other way, into his hidden room. There he pulled something from one of the holes punched in the wall and then went back to the main level of the cave. Entering the room where she was sitting he stood behind her and pulled out the item he had grabbed. It was a necklace that looked like it was made of silver but in truth was stung with polished bones and had carved symbols of a shaman spell. He draped it over her neck and locked it in place, doing it gently for once and in a way that seemed natural unlike what one would think. A swirling symbol in the center of the necklace glowed until it turned into a beastly wolf face. "Now everyone will know who you belong to." He growled in her ear before he pulled her face toward him. Looking at the cut on her cheek, he smirked. Taking a cloth from his pocket, that he had also grabbed while in his room, he pressed it hard against her cuts and watched it sting her. When he pulled it away a few minutes later the scars were gone. He did the same to her cheek before he silently explored her body doing this. Every place he had left a scar on her he healed then until her skin was perfect and a clean slate for him to carve once more.

She had learned by now not to move too quickly when he came up behind her like that, but she was nothing short of surprised at how gentle he was. Even more so when he spoke as if he wanted everyone to know she was his now. Her hand and eyes both went to the pendant that had shifted, but her eyes tightly closed at the stinging pain that made her seethe until he stopped. When he was done she simply sat there, holding the necklace out enough for her to examine it. It was utterly beautiful and even the ugly beastly wolf it portrayed was a beauty to her. Her eyes moved from the necklace to him. He had caused her so much pain and yet... he'd helped her to move on and make her life her own in some odd twisted way. She said nothing but her eyes thanked him silently before she looked back down to it. This would be her only accessory for the ball tomorrow night, and she was quite aware it would not hide under her dress... Slowly she stood from the bed, her body against his again. Her arms slid up his chest and she watched her hands as she had become accustomed to doing. She watched her hands as they slid up his chest but rested there. She leaned up on her toes and pressed her lips to his gently, whether he was to kiss her back or not, before she settled back down and let him either leave or stay.

He watched her without moving anything but his eyes during her enchant meant with her own limbs. Why she was stuck on her hands, his hands, it didn't matter to him much but it caught his interest now and then when everything else was dull. He didn't move his lips against her far to kind ones, she being such a bloody dismal dame for thinking anything was going to change for the norms better now. He didn't leave however, simply because now he didn't have to. She belong to him, whatever he wanted she was going to give and if he wanted to stay she wasn't going to push him away. He moved his hand to her face and pushed her chin up again, forcing those eyes to look away from the hands still on his chest or from his own hands on her flesh. He pressed his hard lips against her soft ones and showed her what being with him was going to be like. The kiss was hard and hungry, anything but the careful touch he had held with the necklace. When he broke away she seemed to want more form him and he refused her for the time being. They had a few more hours before returning at midnight and he wanted to make sure everything was set before the left.

The hungry kiss was exactly what Victoire wanted. The soft one was a bit of a test, perhaps even her testing herself. However his lack of a response almost made her smirk a sick smirk. She sighed into his rough, hungry kiss and when he pulled away her eyes and the rest of her begged him for more silently. But he did not give it, and she was left to the room for the remaining hours, her body aching to be touched, while her mind was twisting wit hall sorts of thoughts... for instance, what was she to tell everyone now...
