Library [Fourth Floor]

Subject: Library [Fourth Floor] Sun Sep 26, 2010 9:48 am

The Hogwarts Library is located at the fourth floor of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and contains tens of thousands of books on thousands of shelves. The library is where students can go to peruse or borrow books to supplement their studies (or for personal enjoyment). The library closes at 8:00 pm. The library books have various spells on them to prevent students from defacing or stealing them. Chocolate and (presumably) other food is forbidden.
Taking Out Books
Students and teachers may take out books from the library, with the librarian’s permission. Students may also be put on a waiting list for a book that's already out.

Having not been able to locate her two best friends, Hermione Granger made her way into the library. She smiled and nodded to Madame Pince and slipped into the Restricted section. By now there were very few books she hadn't read, even from here, and she was searching for something new.

Draco santered into the library withot his goons for once. They were in detention with one of the other bloody worthless teachers and he was left alone to wallow. Not deciding to grace them with waiting, he started to fumble through the books. "Rubish...rubish...all bloody rubish!" He mumbled with a shake of his platinum strands down his neck. His bright eyes scanned the area again but still nothing of interest. Watching a shadow sneak into the restricted section Malfoy couldn't help but follow. Cornering the muggle born, Malfoy just sneered. "What are you doing here, filthy mudblood?" His sneer was cruel and his words elongated by the end of his short question.

Hermione spun quickly, frightened until she saw him. then she was simply angered by him. "Watch it Malfoy or you'll have another broken nose coming your way," she hissed at him. She was alone and could not afford to act afraid at all. Plus they were in the restricted section, one in which noon checked periodically. No, she was completely alone with him right now and Hermione Granger would not be cornered like a mouse. She turned from him, her eyes still scanning too many covers she'd already read.

His sneer turned into a grimace as he started toward her. "Watch it mudblood, I'll make you pay for that little sass!" He narrowed his bright eyes as he closed in on her, far enough her fist couldn't reach but close enough that he was cornering her. Cornering her like the mouse she was. He reached past her and grabbed a book from beside her head, the chain hitting her neck as he pulled it to him. And with that she was trapped. The chain held her between the other bookshelf and him.

Hermione ignored his use of the word again and his threat as she glowered up at him. "What do you want, Malfoy," she asked in a bit of a snotty voice. Hermione wasn't afraid of him and of course the fact that he kept calling her that nasty name would hurt her later, but she couldn't let it just now.. not now. She crossed her arms just under her chest as she glared up at him, her eyes narrowed. Truthfully he frightened her, but she was not about to let him see that.

"Some entertainment." He said as he flipped through the book boredly. Sliding it back he huffed, muttering "Rubbish..." under his breath again. There were no good books in this bloody school. None that he hadn't already read that is. Oh yes, those eleven years before starting Hogwarts...those hundreds of days, they were spent locked away learning all he could and that included reading all this bloody rubbish. His eyes shined against as he looked at her and took a few more steps toward her. "What are you doing here then, Granger?"

Hermione hadn't noticed she was backing up until she felt her back and rear gently press into the bookshelf. "Looking for something new to read," she told him honestly, though with an attitude. She hadn't even noticed or realized that she had a path to leave. she was too focused on glaring at him defiantly.

"Since when do they let muggle born's into the restricted section?" He said, smirking his normal way. Oh Malfoy knew full well she wasn't suppose to be in here, sure he wasn't either but she didn't know that. Draco loved mind games, it was his dirty little secret, and he had played with the best of them but by far this bloody mudblood was the sweetest of torment.

And where were Ron and Harry when she needed them?? Hermione simply held his gaze but as he smirked she glared.[/center]

Oh that curl smirk looked like it belonged on his pale skin. "What are you talking about Granger. No Death Eaters here." Sure his family was a set of them and he was to be apart of them soon but as of yet he wasn't marked and that left for a fun little game of cat and mouse now. "Maybe your finally off your rocker, though if you keep your nose around Weasley's you already must be."

Hermione stepped closer to him this time, his comment having angered her. She seethed and her words dripped with a venom Hermione never even knew she had in her. "My business is my own. Keep your filthy crooked nose out of it." And with that she stalked off, not giving him a glance back. She slipped to the back of the restricted section, knowing she may find a book there if anywhere, and she simply prayed he left her alone.

Fat chance. He followed her, she was making this game far to easy. The back of the section was like a spiral of book cases that got closer together, meaning she was trapping herself in the corner this time and he followed slowly behind. Why he wanted to annoy the mudblood he wasn't sure, but there was something about pushing her buttons that just got a smile on Malfoy's face. "You and your matted hair are easy to follow, muggle born. You know, you could at least try to be pretty. It might actually work if you ever tried...but then again mudbloods are ugly creatures." Another cruel smirk and a step just a few inches before the reach of her fist.

Hermione didn't move. In fact, she froze where she was. A part of her wanted to spill tears, let them fall. However, she refused as she took a slow breath. She let out a small sigh and her shoulders hunched a little. She still didn't turn to him though as her hand reached up for a book she hadn't yet read. "No point in trying," she said quietly, more to herself. She straightened again, leaning sideways into a bookshelf beside her to flip through the first few pages. She decided it would do for now and finally turned to face him. She had to get out that way and, once again, he was blocking her in.

Malfoy laughed and leaned forward, pinning her to the bookcase as he did so. Her book was knocked from her grip and he smirked as he put a hand beside her head, pulling her hair as he forced her head to tilt back. "Yeah, your right. There's no point in even trying to hide something so foul as you!" He laughed and kicked the book away from her, listening to it scream for a few seconds before he stepped the cover shut and closed it.

Hermione let out a ragged gasp, her eyes blinking tightly. Her chest heaved under her harsh breathing. He had frightened her now, but he had also hurt her. Hermione had no idea why she let his words cut her but she did. She didn't cry, no she wouldn't cry in front of him. Though Hermione knew once she was alone she'd bust into tears over his hurtful words. "Let me go, Malfoy," she half demanded, half pleaded of him. Hermione just wanted to be out of there. She didn't care about a book anymore, she just wanted to run away.

Malfoy laughed, a cruel sound that echoed over the dust of the books but was too muffled to go much farther. "What if I don't want to, eh Granger?" He didn't care about the girl but boredom had stroke and she was just in the wrong place at the right time. His hand kept pulling at her matted hair while the other grabbed her moving arm, forcing it back. The books and their chains cried out but no one heard them. "I think I'll have some fun." His lips curled with that cruel sneer and he looked into her fearful eyes.

Hermione couldn't help the small whimper that escaped in response to his comment and treatment. Her eyes closed in a silent plea to the heavens to get her out of this mess, but a small part of her wanted to fight back. Something in the back of her head just said I'll show you... and she decided she'd try even harder not to let the comments bother her. And she would show him and everyone else she could try to look prettier... though she doubted she'd succeed. Hermione gave him a look of disgust, she was disgusted by his antics, but the fear was evident in her eyes. That she could not hide.

Malfoy, bored with her lack of will when faced with the truth, grabbed her arm and pulled her from the bookcase. He twisted her around and shoved her. "Get out of here, mudblood, and go back to your bloody little trader!" When she was gone he picked up the book he had kicked and looked it over before sliding it back into place, chains and all.

Hermione didn't look back. She was halfway between tears and snapping angrily, and she just wanted to be alone. When she left the library she went to her dorm, where she cried, yes. However, Hermione was about to make a transformation no one would have expected.

Malfoy walked out of the restricted section and left the Library all together about a half hour later. Crab and Goyle should have been getting out soon and he was bored now with no one to torment. Potter was off being a hero as always, Weasley was probably trying to talk the mudblood into a good time. He had nothing else to do but find new prey.

Hermione slipped into the library. Here, her defenses were down, and Hermione slipped to the back of the library. Her hips swayed like a normal woman and she didn't feel so shy and timid. She slid into a comfy chair, draping her feet over one of the arms and crossing them at the ankles. Her back was against the other arm and her head had lolled to the side to lean against the back of the chair. Hermione forgot all about her friends and enemies alike as she sank into her novel.
