Praxis was frowning, her eyes watery pools like Delilah petals, and her arms were wrapped around the young boy that clung to her. Cyrus started to nod but then looked at Praxis then Andrew. He nodded again, clinging to her and making a sign with his fingers against the skin over her head. ~~Mother~~ the sign was and it made Praxis' eyes widen slightly. She had to blink to keep the tears that weren't coming in before looking at Andrew again. Dreama was nodding against his neck, muttering over and over again about how she wanted to go with them.

"This is all very sweet but how do you think they will fair in changing temperatures?" Desdemona said as she slipped in silently. She had a fur lined trench coat on over a blue corset and black pants. "Also, who's going to be watching them while your in school? Or is Praxis staying out and taking care of them herself?" She looked over Andrew and Praxis as if the two were new creatures to her. What was going on with them, even daring to think of children? Oh now did she ever have questions for them.

"We'll find a way," Andrew said in his normal, hollow voice. He glanced down at Dream, then to Cyrus, Praxis, and finally to his master. "the house elves can take care of them, I'll make trips home when I can, and we'll keep the temperature right for them." He was simple in his answers, determined to suit the children as best he could. "Besides, If Praxis decided not to come back she could graduate anyway. All she has to do is pass her exams and she's about ready for that already... has been for about a year now," he finished, giving his soon to be bride a glance, half mocking her for her study habits. "If she doesn't want to, I'll stay with them." he said finally. "I can do my job and raise children," he said as if already knowing her next question.

Praxis Clementine what have you done to my warrior." She said with a mock glare as she walked in. "If I didn't know better I'd think you two have planed to star a little family of your own! But then again how can you start one of your own when your already taking care of two little children." Desdemona sat on the edge of the bed, fixing the bottom of her trench, and reached out near the children. They seemed to know just what she was because as soon as she came close enough for them to feel that dark energy of what she truly was the children cowered and clung to their would be parents. "Also, are you really going to take them from a world they've always known, where they are accepted and have other friends of their own kind, and throw them into a world where they will be mocked, beaten, and ridiculed as freaks." This time she looked straight at Praxis with burning, dangerous eyes. She cut straight to the girl's heart and when she saw the wavering stare in reply she knew she nearly won.

Desdemona was right. How could they do that to Dreama and Cyrus. Praxis knew fully well it was rare to meet people who wouldn't see them as freaks and they'd be hurt even by those. She didn't want that for them. Then she realized something else. Her own children, her and Andrew's children, would be in the same situation. Hating the curse she was putting on her own children, even her adopted children if they took Dreama and Cyrus in, Praxis held onto the young boy in her lap. Dreama, feeling Praxis' anguish and fearing Desdemona greatly, moved over to Praxis and whispered 'mamma' softly as Praxis held her as well.

Andrew's expression grew vacant. He knew she was right, he couldn't do that to them. "Well, simple. They'll stay, we'll find them parents here who will take them, and we'll come to see them whenever possible." he said. He refused to give up. Andrew knew his master would win, it was what made her his master, but he would do his best to hurt Cyrus and Dream as little as possible. He did not move to get closer to Praxis or the children, but he stood where he was, his arms in his pockets and his hair flopping down to cover his eyes. If he had to leave them forever he would, but he was going to try not to if he could help it.

Praxis glanced up at Andrew and couldn't help the grown that was hidden by her long hair. She wished he would just be true to himself even in front of Desdemona but she understood why he wouldn't. The children started crying, even Cyrus, as they understood what was happening. She frowned a bit more before taking a deep breath and singing a low, soft lullaby. It was different form every song she had sung before. It had words yet they weren't meant for a lover but for a child that was cherished in her heart. Other than her song the room fell silent.

Desdemona frowned, understanding what that song meant. "By Merlin, you two want children." She muttered, when the song was over and the children had calmed against Praxis' bosom. Earlier she had been joking but now she knew it was true. Sure she understood the pity and connection they held for the orphans but it was different and that song told her that. They wanted children of their own. Bloody Hell.

As if being able to read her mind Andrew gave Desdemona a look that was almost the same... he did want children. Bloody hell... Andrew shook loose his thoughts, what was he thinking? He couldn't take the children away and he couldn't keep coming back to them... he had to leave, with Praxis, and they may never return. "C'mon then, love. We should be going," he said, his voice a little hoarse. He hugged each of the children another time and then he let them go, fof what could be the last time, all he knew.

Like anyone who had formed a motherly bond would know, pulling her away from those children was as difficult as getting the children from her. Eventually it happened though and Praxis ordered the servants to treat them as they treated her. They were to be in the palace and given the highest honors. When she was sure this would be kept she walked out to where Andrew and Desdemona had been waiting with Nyssa. She was still in her true form but now, after two weeks, finally fully turned back to normal. She collapsed there, if of sorrow or of pain it wasn't know. Desdemona got to her first and picked her up slightly, helping her stand.

"Is it true then?" She looked from the half destroyed form of Praxis, who Desdemona had now covered in her trench coat since she didn't have spare clothing with her, to Andrew. "You two want children of your own?" She wasn't mocking them nor shunning them. She wanted simply to know the truth. In her eyes Desdemona could see clearly what the two would be like as parents, she had a glimpse of that before they knew she had been there, and the only thing she didn't like about that was that Andrew shunned the children away the moment Desdemona had appeared. He didn't even try after that. "If your going to be parents," she started regardless as she turned to Andrew. "You need to learn to stick up for what you love. Even against me." With that she passed Praxis onto Andrew and climbed up onto the griffin she had used to get there.

Andrew let his head hang a little, his eyes closing. She had struck a nerve in his heart... maybe he couldn't do it. He helped the tired Praxis up before climbing himself onto Nyssa's back. His eyes were on the palace long into their journey, even after he could not longer see it. He said little to the two the whole way back, feeling as though he'd left a part of himself back in that village.

Praxis was slightly heartbroken. Sure she could deal with it. They weren't her children and she still had Andrew as well as--as far as she knew-- the possibility of having her own children. But Cyrus had named her mother and that hung to her chest like a dager was pulsed into her heart. She said not a word the whole ride back but kept her eyes down cast and thought of Dreama and Cyrus. She half wondered if Andrew even still wanted children now, after the way he had acted. If he didn't she wanted to know now before ....well before she got to drawn and happily attached to the idea. She knew he could do it and would be a brilliant father, both she and he had seen that Andrew even spoke against Desdemona in the future about the children, but did he understand that? Did he remember? Or did it not matter to him any more. At one point during the ride Praxis had drifted into an unconscious state and her hand fell to her stomach as it would with a pregnant woman. In her dreams she mourned her lost child, thinking she'd never have him now.

Desdemona watched them closely the whole ride and it wasn't until they were back at the home Andrew had purchased that she took him aside and spoke to him alone. The house elves were called to bring Praxis inside as they spoke. "If your going to do this, commit to one another and your future, you have to choose who holds more of your loyalties Andrew. Yes I am your master but what is more important to you Andrew? Following me or your heart? I told you she took more than just your heart when she acted her part in my plan and now i've seen the proof of it. Which will you fallow?"
